This morning we welcomed Stephen Peers to our school to meet with our Transition Year students as they embark on a journey to earn themselves a Bronze Gaisce medal. Our Transition Years will be required to dedicate a minimum of 1 hour per week for 13 weeks to each main Challenge Area; Personal Skill, Community Involvement and Physical Recreation. They will also be required to select one Challenge Area to dedicate an additional 13 weeks to. Their Adventure Journey will take place over a minimum of 2 days and 1 night. This year the group will head to Graignamanagh where they will undertake a 25km hike, kayak along the River Barrow and set up and camp in the village for the night. This always proves to be a memorable experience for any student involved.
