STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2019

A special Awards Night took place in the school last night, Tuesday 28th May 2019. This was an event dedicated to recognising the achievements of our students here in The Edmund Rice Secondary school. One of the main awards was that of overall Student of the Year.

The Student of the Year is nominated by the Teachers in the school and nominees are generally selected for their academic efforts throughout the year, as well as displaying attributes such as being hardworking, mannerly, helpful towards other students and teachers and in general give their all to contribute to the school community.


This year there were 9 nominees. All of these students are deserving candidates

On the Night, John Power, represented Carrick-on-Suir Credit Union and gave an introduction to the Award. The Credit Union sponsor this Award each year and the winner receives a very generous bursary. The overall winner on the night was MORGAN MCKNIGHT. Morgan is a sixth year student here and is a very deserving winner of Student of the Year 2019. On the night, Morgan was also recognised for his nominations throughout the year for student of the week, as well as also winning an Academic Achievement Award. We wish Morgan all the best in his Leaving Certificate exams and there is no doubt he will go on to achieve great things. Well done Morgan!
