Loreto Clonmel Model United Nations 2024. Our eager 11 delegates travelled to Clonmel today for the opening of this year’s conference. Students enjoyed welcoming speeches and an afternoon of intense lobbying with two of our delegates submitting resolutions. Delegate of UNHRC (Zach) was featured in the Daily Delegate also. We look forward to the week ahead.
Day 2 of LCMUN24 began with several of our delegates taking to the podium to deliver opening speeches. The conference then successfully passed a resolution on the Issue of Decolonisation of the 17 Remaining Colonial Territories. Clapping was in order.
Day 3 of LCMUN consisted of intense debate surrounding the issues of Internally Displaced People (IDP’s) in Areas of Armed Conflict during the morning session, and Ecoterrorism with Special Regard to Climate Justice in the afternoon. A number of our delegates took to the microphone to give their input throughout the day.
LCMUN 24 concluded today with more fruitful debates. Debating resolutions on the Issue of Space Colonisation and the Issue of Organ Donation and Human Trafficking. Our delegate was also called into the Security Council for questioning. Congratulations to the delegate of UNHCR Zach O’Keefe who won a Highly Distinguished Delegate Award.
