MEP Billy Kelleher

As part of the EU Ambassador Schools Programme, our TY students had the opportunity to engage with MEP Billy Kelleher during a special visit. The programme aims to deepen students’ understanding of the European Union—its institutions, values, and the role Ireland plays within it—while encouraging active citizenship and critical thinking. MEP Kelleher shared his journey from the Dáil to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, spoke about Ireland’s evolving relationship with the EU, and discussed what it truly means to be an EU citizen today.
